Vici Gaming will join TNC Predator in the play-off upper bracket. The Chinese side rallied back in the next two games, securing the 2-1 victory in two sub-thirty minute matches. Vici then met Alliance in the winners’ match, Linus “Limmp” Blomdin pushing the European side to a game one win after 42 minutes. Vici Gaming began their group stage run with a 2-1 win over the newly-signed Team Spirit in the opening match, Zhang “Eurus” Chengjun powering the Chinese squad to victory in game three. TNC secured their group’s top spot after another clean sweep victory. TNC Predator’s Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte and Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios powered the squad to the win, later doing the same as the Filippino-majority squad faced EHOME. Their opening game saw them take on Team Unknown, TNC easing past the Peruvian side in a quick series – neither game reaching the twenty-three minute mark. Group A favorite TNC Predator has come out on top, having pushed past their opponents with 2-0 victories in both matches. The top teams from each group have been found as day one concludes. The group stage sees sixteen teams divided into four groups, playing best-of-three matches to decide play-off seeding.
